Old Saybrook seemed like the perfect place. It was a nice little town in CT, right on the water. The Inn was gorgeous. I had such a beautiful suite. I had a few friends visit. I had a nice walk on the beach and chat with a really nice military guy I met. It was mostly me, alone, enjoying solitude, enjoying the sound of the water. It was so peaceful. But very short. I enjoyed looking around, investigating all the little shops and people in town. And then I headed home. I was refreshed. I was smiling. I was ready to go forward alone. It was ok.
I went home to my parent’s house and spent the last day at the lake with Lucy. We swam and played. It was really nice. And back to the grind. And then it rolled around June 28, 2016……the day that changed my life.
